| Battle of the Bands Heat One |

Infront of a packed crowd of some 150 spectators 11 bands took the Zeal Wellington stage on May the 6th to compete for one of three places in the Battle of the Bands Finals. Styles varied dramatically from metal to trance-pop and a wide selection of other influences. In the end the judging panel (Waylon Edwards, Elliot Taylor, Alistair Mawhinney) had the difficult task of selecting only three. Last year's winners, Urban Legends, were again selected for the finals after busting out two well-formed powerpop tunes. Biting at their heels were Wellington High School metal band, Meat, who wowed the audience with a stage dive for every solo. The final competitor moving ot the finals is The Onset form Onslow College after delivering a great and cohesive group performance. Zeal Wellington's Battle of the Bands returns for the fourth year running with 25 high-school bands from around the Wellington region competing for glory. Heats take place on the 4th, 11th and 18th of May with Finals on the 25th. To enter download the entry form below and email to scott@zeal.org.nz
